Lankarama Vihara is a traditional Theravada Buddhist Temple established in Sydney that promotes Dhamma, the teachings of Buddha in Australia. There are three residing Sri Lankan Buddhist monks regularly conducting Dhamma sermons in Sinhala and English and fulfilling religious requirements of the Buddhist community.

Venerable Pundit Meegahakumbure Dhammagavesi Thero - Chief Resident Monk
Venerable Nayaka Pundit Meegahakumbure Dhammagavesi Thera is the Chief Incumbent of Sri Lanka Buddhist Vihara – Lankarama, Schofield, Sydney – NSW and The Pradhana Sangha Nayaka (Chief Prelate) of the Malwatta Chapter of the Siamese Sect in Australia. He has been serving the Buddhist Community from the very early stages of Lankarama, which was established by SLVBA. It is important to record that he took untiring
efforts with the SLVBA for the development and expansion of its services to Sri Lankan and other communities in Australia.
Foundation stone laying ceremony
The Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony of the proposed Lankarama Residential Meditation Centre led by the Pradhana Sangha Nayaka of Malwatta Chapterof the Siamese Sect in Australia and the Chief Incumbent of the Sydney Lankarama Buddhist Vihara, Rajakeeya Pandith Venerable Meegahakumbure Dhammagavesi Thero, assisted by Venerable Thalangalle Siridhamma Thero and Venerable Boralasgamuwe Supesala Thero was the key religious ceremony of the day.
Lankarama - Sri Lankan Food Fair
The Sydney Lankarama Buddhist Vihara Association (SLBVA) holds Sri Lankan Food Fair biannually, mainly to raise funds for the maintenance of the temple premises and welfare of resident monks.
Residential Mediation Facility
Once completed, this facility will provide overnight accommodation to the devotees participating in Meditation Programs and retreats at Lankarama.
Boundary road is closed from Schofield Road. Please use Garfield Road from Windsor Road, instead of Schofield Road, then right turn into McCulloch Street and continue onto Boundary Road, when coming to the Temple.
